Tarive ("we," "our," or "us") operates a financial insights platform that centralizes account information, automates transaction categorization, and helps teams monitor budgets and goals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website, use the Tarive application, or otherwise interact with us. It applies to users located in the United States and Canada.

If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the application. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

2. How We Use Information

We process personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Provide and maintain the service – authenticate users, retrieve and display financial data, deliver insights, and manage account connectivity.
  2. Improve the platform – analyze aggregated usage data to enhance features, debug issues, and optimize performance.
  3. Communicate with you – send transactional emails, respond to support inquiries, and provide service announcements.
  4. Billing and account management – administer subscriptions, issue invoices, and resolve payment disputes through Stripe.
  5. Security and fraud prevention – monitor for unauthorized access, enforce security controls, and comply with regulatory obligations.
  6. Legal compliance – satisfy contractual requirements with data partners (Plaid, Stripe), respond to lawful requests, and enforce our agreements.
  7. Research and product development – create aggregated, de-identified analytics that do not identify individual users.

3. How We Share and Safeguard Data

We do not sell personal information. We share data with the parties below solely for the purposes outlined in this policy and subject to confidentiality obligations:

  • Plaid – to link financial accounts, refresh balances, sync transactions, and receive webhook notifications. Plaid uses and processes information in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. We never receive or store your banking credentials.
  • Stripe – to process payments and manage subscriptions under the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Service providers – trusted vendors that support hosting, logging, analytics, customer communications, and security monitoring. Each provider processes data only on our instructions.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities – when required to comply with law, regulation, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tarive, our customers, or others.

We may publish aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to an individual.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Financial data retrieved through Plaid is retained until you disconnect the account or request deletion. Once you disconnect, we queue the related balances and transactions for deletion within 30 days and remove associated Plaid access tokens immediately.

You can disconnect an institution at any time from the Accounts page or by emailing info@si8tech.com. If you request full account deletion, we remove all personal data (including budgets, goals, and support history) within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access and correction – request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy or correction.
  • Deletion – request deletion of personal information subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt-out of sale/sharing – we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Data portability – request a machine-readable export of the data we store about you.

6. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, event monitoring, and secure development practices. Despite our efforts, no system can guarantee 100% security. Notify us immediately at info@si8tech.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or data.

7. Children's Privacy

Tarive is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and notify users through in-app notifications or email when material changes occur.
